Rashid Sidek & Rosman Razak say goodbye to BAM

Kuala Lumpur: After 13 years serving as a coach at the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), Malaysia's chief singles coach Rashid Sidek has decided not to renew the contract with BAM on Monday. Meanwhile, Rosman Razak who has done extremely well as the women’s doubles coach since taking charge in 2012, has also decided to leave BAM after about 20 years with the organization both as a player and as a coach.It's sad to see Rashid Sidek (left) and Rosman Razak leave. Wishing them an amazing adventure and all the very best for the future!

Kuala Lumpur: The coaches who will be retained by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) will be announced on Tuesday.

BAM technical director Morten Frost Hansen said negotiations on new contracts today went well, with some coaches expressing their willingness to continue serving the body.Hendrawan, Tey Seu Bock, Rashid Sidek (from left) have been coaching in BAM for many years.

New Delhi: Sunday was a huge day for Indian badminton where their home shuttlers Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth won their respective India Open Super Series titles in front of a capacity home crowd in New Delhi.

Saina Nehwal who became the first Indian women shuttler to ever achieve world number one ranking, got the better off former world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand by winning 21-16 21-14 in 49 minutes.Congratulations to Saina Nehwal, Kidambi Srikanth for winning their maiden India Open title (photo: AFP)

New Delhi: Saina Nehwal created history on Saturday as she became the first Indian woman shuttler to attain the world number one ranking after her closest challenger for the spot, Spain's Carolina Marin, lost in the India Open Super Series semifinal here.

Though the official rankings will be out only on Thursday next week, the 25-year-old Indian has been assured of her ascent to the top thanks to Marin's loss in the last-four stage.Congratulations to Saina Nehwal for becoming world no. 1
