KUALA LUMPUR: Singles shuttler Chong Wei Feng continued to remain in the shadow of his senior Lee Chong Wei after losing to the world No. 1 in the second round of the Hong Kong Open in Kowloon.
On Thursday, Wei Feng came up short when he went down 12-21, 18-21 to Chong Wei in just 27 minutes.
It was Wei Feng’s third loss to Chong Wei. And, again, he just couldn’t break the solid defence and strong resolve of the more experienced Chong Wei, who dictated the pace from the start.
But there is no time for the 26-year-old Wei Feng to wallow in self pity as he has get back up and get ready for the Myanmar SEA Games next month.
“Chong Wei had answers to all my attacking shots and used his experience to get the better of me in windy conditions inside this stadium. Tactically, I was well beaten,” said Wei Feng.
