JAKARTA (Antara): The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) said Tuesday it would decide the main team for the world mixed team championship Sudirman Cup early February.

"Our initial schedule to set up the main team is actually this month, but the coaches are given more time to decide the main team until early February after Korea Open," Head of PBSI development affairs Lius Pongoh was quoted by Antara as saying.

PETALING JAYA: Rising doubles stars Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong did not have much trouble booking their place in the main draw of the Korean Open but veteran Wong Choong Hann found the going too tough in the qualifying tournament at the Olympic Gymnasium in Seoul yesterday.

After receiving a walkover from the Kiwi pair of Daniel Shirley-John Gordon, the newly-crowned Malaysian Open champions made short work of Mongolias Batkhurel Ochirpurev-Enkhbat Olonbayar 21-10, 21-9 to check in.

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia has only men`s singles Sony Dwi Kuncoro and men`s doubles Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan left in the ongoing Korea Open.

Sony booked the victory after defeating 20th seeded Lee Tsuen Seng of Malaysia in a rubber set 17-21, 21-18 and 21-18 to qualify for the quarter finals, the tournament`s official site said on Thursday.

WONG Choong Hanns chances of competing in the World Championships suffered a major setback when he crashed in the qualifying rounds of the Korea Open in Seoul yesterday.

However, Malaysia Open champions Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong and compatriots Tan Bin Shen-Ong Soon Hock were in cruise control as they checked into the main draw which begins today.
