Badminton's Commonwealth Games gold medallist Tracey Hallam has announced her retirement at the age of 33.

She reached a high of seven in the world rankings and reached the last eight in three consecutive world championships, from 2005 to 2007. Tracey Hallam in action at the Beijing Olympics

Hallam, from Burton-on-Trent, said: "Now is the time to go. I have many great memories, including winning the 2006 Commonwealth gold in Melbourne."

England coach Ian Wright said: "She is a credit to the sport."
