Kuala Lumpur: Before icing his position as a legend in the badminton world, three-time Olympic silver medalist Lee Chong Wei lived a tumultuous life that ultimately hardened and shaped his competitive edge on the badminton court.
A new trailer for the upcoming biopic adapted a compelling look at Lee’s rise to fame has been released on Thursday and the complete movie is expected to hit cinemas in the first quarter of 2018.
Lee is a highly renowned badminton icon in Malaysia and around the world.
The film that titled “Lee Chong Wei”, showed Jake Eng cast as a young promising Lee, while Tosh Chan played Lee’s grown up life who always carried that glow of burning desire to be the best.
The biopic followed Lee through his sacrifices and hard work that led him to win three Olympic silver medals, 67 career titles and 46 of them are Super Series titles. All these awards have cemented his stake as one of the greatest badminton player of all-time.
One touching moment in this whole trailer came when Lee’s family expressed strong opposition against his wish of playing badminton. And against all odds, Lee’s raw talent and his revolutionary skills has propelled him into becoming a badminton icon.
