The penultimate day of the six-day Indonesian Open badminton championship gave the hosts only Taufik Hidayat fighting for the title after the 2004 Olympic champion won his semifinal match at the Istora Sports Hall in Jakarta on Saturday night.

The fifth seed, who is looking to win the title for a record seventh time, defeated fellow Indonesian, fourth-seed Sony Dwi Kuncoro 21-17, 21-14.

However, it will be a potentially tough task in the final for Taufik with world's No. 1 Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia winning his semifinal battle against Chinese Chen Jin 21-15, 22-20.

Indonesia's hopes for another shot at a title crumbled after Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan, the world's No. 1 pair and top seeds in the tournament, lost to South Koreans Lee Yong-dae and Jung Jae-sung 21-19, 21-17.
