QINGDAO, East China, -- "Super Dan", as Chinese top shuttler Lin Dan was nicknamed, made history by defending the men's singles badminton title at the 11th Chinese National Games here on Sunday. Lin Dan of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) team celebrates after winning the men's singles final of badminton against Bao Chunlai of Hunan province at the 11th Chinese National Games in Jinan, east China's Shandong Province, Oct. 18, 2009. Lin won the match 2-0 and claimed the title of the event.

The 26-year-old, who represents People's Liberation Army, crushed Bao Chunlai from Hunan 21-11, 21-3 in a 35-minute match.

    This was a replay of the final of last National Games four years ago as Lin pipped Bao 15-10, 15-2.

    Thus Lin became the first player to defend men's singles badminton title in the National Games history.
