“[We] are obliged to take this recommendation to cancel the tournament,” said PBF.
There’s no other No concrete plans or decisions have been made in regards to the immediate future of the tournament other than that it won’t occur this week.
Even though it was an International Series event, but the tournament also provided Olympic qualifying ranking points.
Meanwhile, Badminton England has reassured that next week’s 2020 All England badminton Championships will go on as planned, but there are doubts over the Swiss open to be held from March 17 to March 22, because Swiss government has banned all public events with 1,000 people or more, until 15 March after the first confirmed case of Coronavirus in Switzerland.
That decision has led to the cancellation of the 90th edition of Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) which supposed to open to general public from March 5 to March 15, 2020.
