NATHAN Robertson is the man everyone wants to beat at the English National Badminton Championships next month.

The World, European, and Commonwealth gold medalist has been named top seed in both the men's and mixed doubles at the event, which takes place from February 5-7 at the Manchester Velodrome.STAR ATTRACTION: Olympic silver medallist Nathan Robertson is the top seed in two events at the English National Championships

Robertson, who won an Olympic silver medal with Gail Emms in Athens in 2004, is hoping new partner Jenny Wallwork can help him add to his impressive tally of seven English National titles.

The 32 year-old is also aiming to continue the defence of his men's doubles title, which he has held for the last five years.

His partner, Anthony Clark, is bidding for a record breaking ninth consecutive win in the men's doubles at the championships, but the pair will face tough competition for the title from second seeds Chris Adock and Robert Blair.

But as the second seed in the mixed doubles Clark will also be eager to challenge Robertson from the other side of the net, as he teams up with Heather Olver.

In the women's doubles Wallwork, and Gabby White, have been named as the number one seeds, although are certain to be challenged by Olver and partner Mariana Agathangelou.

And in singles, Rajiv Ouseph is targeting a third title in a row, while in the women's draw Elizabeth Cann is aiming to recapture the title she lost to Jill Pittard in last years' final.
