Denmark almost swept the board at the European Badminton Championships in Manchester, with Peter Gade winning his fifth European singles title.

The women's title was also won by a Dane as Tine Rasmussen beat Germany's Juliane Schenk 21-19 14-21 21-18.

In the men's doubles, defending champions Lars Paaske and Jonas Rasmussen beat Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen 24-22 22-20 in an all-Denmark final, while the mixed doubles also went to Danes as Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Rytter beat Poland's Robert Mateusiak and Nadiezda Kostiuczyk 21-19 18-21 21-12.

But there was gold for other nations in the women's doubles as Russian duo Valeria Sorokina and Nina Vislova beat top seeds Petya Nedelcheva of Bulgaria and Anastasia Russkikh 21-18 21-14.
