One of the factors that Kunshan won the bid was because of its facility, the Kunshan Sports Centre can house more than 5,000 spectators, while the Istora Senayan Stadium, Jakarta, can only accommodate 6,000 spectators.

Kunshan's vice-mayor Guan Fengliang said in a released statement that they were glad to have the opportunity of hosting the Thomas-Uber Cup Finals. They will try their best to help promote the sport of badminton worldwide.

Badminton World Federation (BWF) also announced Peru's capital Lima will be hosting the 2015 World Junior badminton Championship.
