Mumbai: On Tuesday, Germany shocked the Brazilian fans to tears with 7-1 demolition of Brazil in the semi-final of world cup 2014. However, the stunning performance by Germany was a long time coming. The German team has been building toward this excellence since 2000, when it produced a development plan, identifying and training athletic youngsters in 366 districts.

On the same day, a similar plan called `Tata Capital Super Shuttlers` was launched in India with the purpose to scout for talented children in the 8-15 age groups in Bangalore.
The scouting process will begin with badminton camps at premier sports clubs across Bangalore, between July 12 and August 10.
After the 2-day camps, the best players will participate in a two-day tournament at the Karnataka Badminton Academy. The winners will win the `Tata Capital Super Shuttlers` trophy and a chance to train with expert coaches.
"Last year, `Tata Capital Super Shuttlers` was a huge success in promoting badminton among young kids. This year, we would like to provide more opportunities for these kids to understand how to play better badminton," said India’s badminton legend Prakash.
"We received overwhelming response to this project last year at Mumbai, that's why we would like to try it at a different city this year," said Govind Sankaranarayanan, COO of Tata Capital`s Retail Business and Housing Finance.
