Kunshan: The London Olympic champion Li Xuerui shook off a shaky second set, as she bounced back to earn a hard-fought three-gamer against India’s Saina Nehwal in the Uber Cup semi-finals on Friday.
Both players fought neck and neck in the decider, but Li eventually found her rhythm to seemingly cruising her way with 21-15, 12-21, 21-17 against the 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Saina Nehwal.
China’s Wang Shixian concluded one of the most remarkable comeback in Uber Cup history when she had to dig deep to surge from 8-18 in the second set to seal the second women’s singles victory against P.V Sindhu with 21-13, 23-21.
