PETALING JAYA: Malaysian singles player Wong Choong Hann and doubles duo Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah were beaten in their respective second matches in the season-ending Copenhagen Masters invitational tournament at the Falconer Centre in Copenhagen on Thursday, failing in their bid to reach the final.
Choong Hann, still struggling to rediscover his form after a long injury lay-off, lost to Peter-Gade Christensen.
The world number three from Denmark beat Choong Hann 21-6, 2-19 in a Group A match to ensure an all-Danish final against Kenneth Jonassen.
Jonassen advanced to the final after beating Malaysia's Mohd Hafiz Hashim in straight games Wednesday.
Tan Fook-Wan Wah lost 12-21, 19-21 to world number one doubles pair Fu Haifeng-Cai Yun of China on Thursday.
Wan Wah-Tan Fook had defeated former world champions Lars Paaske-Nathan Robertson of Denmark 21-23, 21-18, 23-21 in a earlier Group A match.
Fu-Cai, the reigning world champions, had also beaten the Danish pair in their opening match Wednesday and will face Indonesians Joko Riyadi-Hendra Gunawan in the final.
The Indonesian pair won 21-9, 21-17 against World Championships runners-up Anthony Clark-Robert Blair of England to qualify for the final.
