Cyberjaya: Although Puchong United BC made a struggling start to their campaign, but that did not stop them from emerging victorious against Klang City BC on Saturday.
Alamsyah Yunus of Puchong couldn’t do much against Leong Jun Hao of Klang City BC in the first men’s singles match as he lost 1-2 when the 30 minutes limit allocated to each match has been reached.
Pan Lu, Tai An Khang/Yang Po Han however, kept their nerves in the next two see-saw battles and managed to claim 3-0 and 3-1 victories in the women’s singles and men’s doubles matches respectively.
After a 7-3 lead, Puchong’s mixed doubles pair Goh Liu Ying/Yoo Yeon Seong showed great grit by cementing their team’s lead to 10-3 by defeating Goh Liu Ying’s boyfriend Ong Jian Guo and his partnered Vivian Hoo in the Klang City team 11-6, 11-8, 11-6.
In the last men’s singles match, Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk was a in a destructive mood by demolishing Chin Wai Kin 3-1 in 30 minutes.
With the win, Puchong United remained at No. 2 spot in the Purple League ranking.
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya BC which has become the only team throughout the tournament to have not lost a single tie, played with same consistency on Saturday to overcome Klang City BC 13-4.
Defending champions Muar City BC also bagged the tie against Serdang BC 12-6 on Saturday.
