Kuala Lumpur: Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) acting president Tan Sri Al Amin Abdul Majid has revealed that both World No. 1 men’s singles player Lee Chong Wei and BAM technical director Morten Frost have resolved their strained relationship professionally.Lee Chong Wei's return to active badminton should be taken slowly and carefully. “I don’t want to get into the details about my conversions with Chong Wei or Frost. Both have their own responsibilities, and they were very professional in handling their conflicts,” said Abdul Majid.

“I am taking their spat very seriously. I have met Chong Wei and Frost in person, I have also talked to BAM general manager Lawrence Chew and honorary secretary Ng Chin Chai. For now, I would say the problem has been resolved,” added Abdul Majid.

The Malaysian badminton superstar blasted Morten Frost and BAM for ignoring his complaints about the slippery badminton mat and eventually tore his medial collateral ligament (MCL) on his left knee after a fall at the newly-built Academy Badminton Malaysia during a training session two weeks ago.

Although Lee is recovering at a faster pace than previously expected, his coach Hendrawan was taking a cautious approach with Lee rather than rushing the World No. 1 back from his injury.

“Chong Wei has not returned to the court yet as he needs more rest. We will consult with team doctor to see if he could start some training without aggravating his injury,” said Hendrawan.

When asked about whether Lee would still play at the upcoming All England Open Badminton Championships that will be held from March 17 to March 12 in Birmingham, Hendrawan has played down the expectation about Lee’s participation at 2017 All England.

“Choong Wei has not withdrawn from All England yet. Even if he has fully recovered, we still need to evaluate the state of his physical fitness,” added Hendrawan.

“Lee only has two more weeks to prepare for the All England, because All England will start 3 weeks from now. If he is still not 100% after the second weeks, we will withdraw him from All England,” said Hendrawan.
