Rian/Yonathan to challenge Markis/Hendra in Denmark quarter-final |

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian men`s double Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama will challenge another Indonesian double Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan in the quarter final of the Denmark Super Series badminton tournament after the two booked victories in the second round.
Markis/Hendra beat Xie Zhongbo/Guo Zhendong of China 22-20, 17-21, 21-19 on Thursday night. Rian/Yonathan, winner of the Dutch Open last week, beat another Indonesian double, Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto, 21-17, 15-21, 21-10. Indonesian men`s single Simon Santoso, meanwhile, pulled a surprise by beating host favorite and sixth seed shuttler Peter Gade 21-17, 21-17 thus qualifying for the quarter-final round. Before Simon, Sony Dwi Kuncoro had already won a ticket to the quarter final round. The runner-up of the Swiss Super Series will meet world champion Lin Dan of China to get a place in the semi-final round. Lin got a ticket for the quarter-final after beating Andrew Smith of Britain 21-18, 21-11. Two Indonesian women`s doubles, namely Vita Marissa/Lilyana Natsir and Nitya Krishinda/Lita Nurlita were defeated by their rivals. Vita/Lilyana were beaten by second seed Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen of China 14-21, 10-21. Nitya/Lita, meanwhile, had to surrender to Korean double Ha Jung Eun/Kim Min Jung 21-18, 15-21, 18-21.(*)
