• Lee Chong Wei earns Fifth BWF Best Male Player of the Year Award

    Dubai: For his excellence at the highest level of the sport of badminton, Badminton World Federation (BWF) had announced that World No. 1 men's singles player Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia was selected as the 2016 Best Male Player of the Year.   • Lee Chong Wei wins 2013 BWF Male Player of the Year

    New Delhi: Lee Chong Wei was named the BWF Male Player of the Year for 2013 for his remarkable performances in 2013 by winning 6 superseries tournaments and the Super Series Masters Finals; he was also the runner-up in the World Championships in Guangzhou last year. Other BWF Male Player of the Year 2013 nominees were Lin Dan and Chen Long of China, the doubles duo Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan from Indonesia; and Ko Sung-hyun-Lee Yong-dae of South Korea.Lee Chong Wei received the 2013 Male Player of the Year award from the President of Badminton Association of India, Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta at the annual BWF Gala Awards Dinner held in the sidelines of Thomas and Uber Cup tournament being held in Delhi.
