    When asked about another teen sensation Ratchanok Intanon from Thailand after the match, Jin Wei refused to be compared to Ratchanok who won her first world junior title at the age of 14 and won the world championship last year when she was 18.

    Kangar: Selangor won the gold medal in Sukma badminton men’s team event by defeating Penang 3-2 in the final. The final lasted for almost four hours at the State Sports Complex badminton hall in Kangar.It was a thriller all the way, but in the end it was Selangor who turned out to be the heroes as they edged Penang 3-2 in the men’s badminton team final to claim the gold medal.

    Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub became the key player who delivered two points to lead Selangor with a 3-2 comeback win over Penang. The 21 year-old got off a good start by defeated Tan Jia Wei 21-15, 21-14. However, Selangor soon found themselves trailing 2-1 when their second Chong Yee Han lost to Penang’s Goh Giap Chin 20-22, 14-21, and their third singles, Soong Joo Ven lost to Cheam June Wei of Penang 21-17, 21-18.

    Zulfadli Zulkiffli who played the opening game for FT, was struggling in the first set, and went down 15-21 to Selangor’s Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub. In the second set, a suddenly alert and focused Zulfadli turned the tables on Mohd Azriyn, closed out the match by sweeping the next two games 21-10, 21-16.
