Tan Boon Heong, who pairs with Koo Kien Keat as favorites to win Malaysia's first gold medal at the world badminton championships, shrugged off pressure from home people.
Tan/Koo began to pair up since the Japanese Open last October, and won the men's doubles title at the Asian Games, Malaysian Open, All England Open and Swiss Open. Their consistent progress brought home people hopes of ending Malaysia's gold drought at the badminton worlds.

Tan told Xinhua on Monday that he felt no pressure and they had made thorough preparation for the championships.

Tan/Koo suffered ups and downs in form. Tan said they had resumed systematic training especially for the worlds.

Lee Chong Wei, Malaysia's No. 1 men's singles shuttler, said he did feel the pressure either, adding that he will do his utmost to bring home "a historic moment".
