The Imphal Free Press IMPHAL, Sept 2: State shuttlers L Nandakumar, and Sh Rameshwari have retained the men`s and women`s titles in the ongoing 52nd Badminiton Championships 2007 being held at the DM College INdoor Stadium. In the men`s final today, L Nandakumar of UBC beat W James of TDBA by 21-10 and 21-13 points. In the Women`s singles final, Rameshwari beat T Bina of Imphal east by a score of 21-10 and 21-12. In the mini-boys (under 10 years), N Jackson of TDBA beat L Dickson, also of TDBA by 21-18, 23-21, while in the junior boys singles, RK Ciner of YPHU beat W James of TDBA by 21-19 and 21-10 points. In veterans singles, A Sunitikumar of YPHU beat L Kumar of civil service by 21-11 and 21-11 points. In the veterans doubles, Y Samarendra and A Sunitikumar beat L Kumar and Ch Premananda Roy by a score of 21-16, 16-21 and 24-22. |
