SACRIFICES and the right attitude in training are the reasons behind the success of Malaysian women’s doubles pair Chin Eei Hui-Wong Pei Tty at the Indonesia Open.
The duo gave up an easy opportunity to pick up prize money at the Pahang Open in Kuantan last month to remain at their training base in Bukit Jalil to polish up their game. It resulted in them beating several top pairs in the world to win their third Open title in Jakarta last Sunday.
The win for Eei Hui-Pei Tty was worth US$18,750. It more than made up for the RM6,000 they would have easily raked in from the Pahang Open,
Coach Rosman Razak said that the duo were able to work on their game during the one-week training under national doubles chief coach Rexy Mainaky.
“It was a solid one-week training for them. They were committed to improve on their game,” said Rosman.
