Shenzhen, China – In an electrifying day for Malaysian badminton, both Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei and Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik have stormed into the semifinals of the 2025 China Masters, keeping Malaysia’s hopes alive in the prestigious BWF World Tour Super 750 event.

Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei Set for Massive Clash with World No.1

The reigning World Champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei will face their toughest test yet against China’s top-seeded pair Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping in Saturday’s mixed doubles semifinal.

Although the Malaysian duo has lost 6 of their 8 previous encounters with Feng/Huang, their only recent win came at the group stage of the Paris 2024 Olympics, where they prevailed 17-21, 21-15, 21-16.

In Friday’s quarterfinals, Chen/Toh battled past Hong Kong’s Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet in a gritty 21-12, 12-21, 21-17 victory lasting 60 minutes.

“We didn’t play our best today and made many unforced errors, but we kept motivating each other and stuck to our own game plan,” said Toh Ee Wei in a post-match interview with the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
