Taipei: Before Kung Fu, there was Wuxia. For those who are familiar with Chinese Wuxia genre (ancient martial art) drama, those stories often took place in a world of swords, sorcery, chivalry, and romance. Actors and actresses in those stories always displayed some mind-blowing fighting and flying skills.
One of the classic Wuxia scenes was a guy using a fighting style called “一阳指” (direct translation = “one sun finger”), where he used his magical ability to shoot laser beams from his fingers to douse candle fires (see video below).
On Friday, World No. 1 women’s singles player, Tai Tzu Ying posted a video that did just that – putting out 5 candle fires not using her fingers, but her badminton racket and shuttlecock.
“It’s my first time to put out fires on five candles. At first, I thought I couldn’t do it,” said Tai.
Enjoy the video below from Tai.
For entertainment purposes, the video below shows that in reality, someone could actually put out fires on candles through their fingers. Perhaps this guy has learned the jaw-dropping “一阳指” fighting style from guys inside the first video above 🙂
