Kuala Lumpur: The 2015 World Junior champion Goh Jin Wei who aggravated her ankle injury at the Asian Junior Championships in Jakarta on Monday had received positive news from her MRI scan.

The MRI results have cleared her to continue playing for Malaysia in next month’s Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.

President of Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) told reporters on Friday that the MRI scan done by the National Sports Institute (ISN) showed Goh had no signs of having a critical injury. Norza was confident that Goh would recover on time for the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games (KL2017).

“This is a relief to us. The two MRI scans show Jin Wei did not suffer any serious injuries and it should not affect her SEA Games preparation,” said Norza.

Goh Jin Wei led Malaysia to sweep six out of the seven badminton gold medals at stake in the Asean Schools Games (ASG) in Singapore on July 20th before picked up that ankle injury during the semi-finals of the mixed team event of the Asian Junior Championships in Jakarta on July 24th.
