Orleans: The 19-year-old Selvaduray Kisona who earned herself a ticket to be part of the Malaysian Uber Cup team by defeating compatriot Lee Ying Ying 21-19, 21-13 on Thursday and storming into the quarter-finals of Orleans Masters, couldn’t do much to slow Ruselli Hartawan down on Friday, losing to the Indonesian player in a hard-fought 10-21, 21-17, 17-21 in 51 minutes.

On the other hand, in the men’s doubles, Malaysia’s unseeded Chia Chun Kang/Tan Wee Gieen had a relatively easy quarter-finals when they saw off Nikita Khakimov/Andrey Parakhodin of Russia 21-14, 21-13. Chia/Tan are set to on Akbar Bintang Cahyono/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani of Indonesia on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in the men’s singles, Denmark’s No. 3 seed Rasmus Gemke and No. 1 seed Sameer Verma of India secured their passage into the last four after Gemke defeated No. 5 seed Parupalli Kashyap of India 21-18, 21-14 while Verma outlasted No. 8 seed Lucas Corvee of France 17-21, 21-19, 21-15.

Gemke will play Lucas Claerbout of France on Saturday while Verma will take on No. 4 seed Mark Caljouw of France for a spot in the final.
