THE last time Saina Nehwal and Lin Wang met was in the final of the Indonesia Super Series on June 21. It was a historic match. Saina rattled the World No 2 from China 12-21, 21-18, 21-9. It was a dream come true for the Indian girl, who rose to become world number six. Saina and Wang have met twice with one win each.On Friday, the stage is set for yet another edge-of-the seat quarterfinal contest between the two rising stars. This time she will be playing the Chinese giant at her home town. Her parents, Harvir Singh and Usha Rani will be there with prayers on their lips. All roads will lead to GMC Balayogi-SAAP Indoor Stadium.“It is a big match tomorrow. She is a very good player. I haven’t thought about it so far. I know that it is going to be tough,” she said after the match. For Wang, it will be a reality test. She will face Saina and the Indian crowd. “She will have solid support. I will play my natural game. Although she won the Indonesia Super Series, it will be a totally different ball game here. I’m ready for the challenge,” said Wang.
