Kuala Lumpur: Bell’s palsy can seem like an alarming medical condition. It usually occurs without warning. This condition causes partial or complete paralysis of the face and doesn’t have a connection with any other illness. It often appears quickly overnight and can go away in a couple of days or can stay with the person for a long time.
The Rio Olympic mixed doubles silver medalist Chan Peng Soon posted a video on his Facebook on Friday saying that he didn’t play well at the BWF World Tour Finals in Guangzhou due to health problems.
“I am suffering from Bell’s Palsy, I have no feeling on one side of my face, can’t control my mouth muscle, and I am having trouble closing my left eye,” said Chan.
“Due to the fact that I can’t close my left eye, sweat got into my eye easily during matches and that really bothered me a lot,” explained Chan.
Chan was not alone in this case as many well-known Hollywood celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Pierce Brosnan, George Clooney, and Katie Holmes have also experienced this medical condition.
Badmintonplanet.com would like to wish Chan a quick recovery and feel better soon.
