Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian men’s team has been placed in Pot 2 of the Thomas Cup draw while the women’s team was placed in Pot 3 of the 2020 Uber Cup draw based on the World Team Rankings as of March 3, 2020.
The Thomas Cup draw saw top seed Indonesia, second seed Japan, China and Denmark were assigned to Pot 1. Chinese Taipei, India, Malaysia and South Korea were drawn in Pot 2, and Pot 3 contained Thailand, England, Germany, Canada, France, Netherlands, Australia, and Algeria.
In the Uber Cup draw, top seed Japan, second seed China, Korea and Thailand were in Pot 1. Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, India, and Denmark were drawn to Pot 2. Pot 3 was for Malaysia, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Egypt, and Scotland.
The Thomas Cup and Uber Cup Finals tournament draw will be conducted on March 18, 2020, and the 16 men and 16 women teams will be drawn into four groups of four.
