New Delhi: India’s World No. 28 women’s doubles player, Sikki Reddy, and physiotherapist for the Indian badminton team, Kiran Challagundla breathed a sigh of relief when their second COVID-19 test results have come back negative.

Both Reddy and Challagundla were tested positive for Covid-19 at the Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad last Thursday. The academy was then shut down for disinfection and sterilization for a few days.
They then decided to get tested again in a private hospital last Friday, and The Sports Authority of India (SAI)
also confirmed that the results came back negative.
“Shuttler Sikki Reddy and Physiotherapist Kiran C, who were part of the Badminton National Camp at Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad and had tested positive for Covid-19, took the RT PCR test again, and both have tested negative.
The decision to test them again was taken because both were asymptomatic and even their family members were COVID-19 negative,” said SAI in an official statement.
Following the test results, India’s badminton chief coach Pullela Gopichand has decided to resume the training camp on Monday, August 17.
