Chengdu: Qingdao Renzhou has now built its unbeaten streak to three games in the 2020 China Badminton Super League (CBSL) as it delivered another dominant display to sweep Hunan Hualai 5-0 on Monday.
World No. 2 mixed doubles pair Wang Yi Lyu/Huang Dong met He Jiting/Wei Yaxin in the first match, and Wang/Huang knew exactly how to continue their team’s winning run by overcame their opponents 15-13, 11-7, 11-6.
“The victory was not as easy as it seemed, because they have sparred with us in the national team,” said Wang.
In the last match of the tie, Zheng Siwei/Liu Yuchen scored the fifth point for Qingdao by outlasting Huang Hongbin/Zhang Jun 11-5, 11-3, 11-5.
“Too bad we did not get a chance to play against Hunan’s first men’s doubles pair – He Jiting/Han Chengkai,” said Zheng Siwei after the match.
After Monday’s win, Qingdao has become the number one team in the 2020 CBSL.
On the other hand, Jiangsu Victor suffered its third consecutive loss by going down to Anhui 1-4.
In the contest between Xiamen Tefang and Ruichang Biyuan, the Xiamen Tefang decided to sideline Rio Olympic men’s singles champion, Chen Long. Of course, with a pool of talented players such as Huang Yaqiong, He Bingjiao, Chen Qingchen, and many other national team players, Ruichang just bulldozed over Xiamen like no one else’s business with an overall 4-1 result.
