World No 1 Lee Chong Wei stayed rock steady in his mission to win the French Open title when he battled for a 21-18, 21-18 win over India’s Ajay Jayaram to reach the quarter-finals. 
He will take on another veteran of the game – Thailand’s Boonsak Ponsana – for a place in the semi-finals.
The other quarter-finals will be between Kenichi Tago of Japan and Indonesian Tommy Sugiarto; Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka of Indonesia will face Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark; and Hu Yun of Hong Kong will square off against Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand.
