BUKIT JALIL: If it was just one month earlier, former All-England champion Morten Frost of Denmark would have considered a possibility of returning to Malaysia to beef up the coaching and training structure.

Yesterday, Frost, who was the country’s national coaching director 15 years ago, said that the timing was not good to consider any offer.

BAM is looking for an expert to helm the new Corporate, Skills and Research (CSR) committee, which will deal with the coaches and players.Morten Frost is one of the best badminton coach in the world.

“I have just got a new job last month and it will be difficult to think about another move right now,” said Frost, who is here at the Maybank Malaysian Open as a television commentator.

Frost, however, admitted that he spoke casually to a few people about the new plan and development in BAM under the new president Tan Sri Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff over the last few days – as he always had the interest of Malaysian badminton at heart.

In fact, Frost believes that his favourite Malaysian player – Lee Chong Wei will finally end his elusive chase for a men’s singles world title at the World Championships at Copenhagen in August.

“Even if Lin Dan of China returns to the scene, I will still pick Chong Wei for the title. He has been playing great badminton and truly is a good ambassador,” said Frost.

“Chen Long of China will be his main challenger. He is steady and strong and will be a player to watch out for,” he added.
