India ace shuttler Saina Nehwal it is important for her to nail the first point in Uber Cup to get the team momentum going.
“First singles is critical in a team event. If I could score a point, it will build an early momentum and will definitely boost our team confidence ,” Saina said at the launch of the tournament.
“We have a high hope of reaching semi-final as Sindhu and I are capable of winning a point in singles, and another point would come from Jwala (Gutta) and Ashwini (Ponnappa) in doubles. I am confident that we can perform well as a team.”
“We never had more than one good singles player. This time, we have Sindhu and me. We are definitely stronger compare to our previous Uber Cup teams. At this stage, we are all set and ready for battle,” she insisted.
