Kuala Lumpur: Ng Hui Lin-Ng Hui Ern’s request to return to the Malaysia national team has been accepted by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).
“We wrote a letter to BAM one month ago requested about possibility of our return to the national team upon completion of our studies in England. I met with BAM president Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff on Sunday, and he has unofficially given me the green light,” said Hui Lin. BAM will send out an official acceptance letter to the sisters in next few days.
According to Hui Lin, there is a chance that she and Hui Ern may be split up.
“Tengku Mahaleel said the coaches will conduct several experiments to find the best possible partnership for us,” said Hui Lin. The sisters are required to go through conditioning program with the National Sports Institute to fine tune their mental and physical fitness.
Hui Lin also explained the reason why she and Hui Ern didn’t turn professional was because BAM has the best facilities in the country, and the group of experienced coaches in BAM could help push them to become better players.
