Sofia: Marc Zwiebler of Germany dispatched Italy’s Indra Bagus Ade Chandra of Italy 21-11 23-21 on Saturday to advance to the final of Bulgarian International Championships. Zwiebler had just won the Czech International Championships a week ago.
He will clash with Scott Evans of Ireland in the final. Evans breezed past Rasmus Fladberg of Denmark 21-19 21-16 in another semi-final.
Zwiebler held a 5-0 head-to-head career records against Evans, and definitely has a psychological advantage over Evans to triumph at the $15,000 tournament. Both Czech International Championships and Bulgarian International Championships are regarded as part of the “Badminton Europe Circuit” competition.
