Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen are the mixed doubles favorite in Denmark Open

Odense: Two Danish mixed doubles pairs got off to a good start at the Yonex Denmark Open 2014 on Tuesday.

The mixed doubles pair of Mads Pieler Kolding and Kamilla Rytter Juhl survived a scare earlier Tuesday as they overcame the Indonesians pair Muhammad Rijal and Vita Marissa 21-17, 17-21 and 22-20 in 51 minutes.Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen are the mixed doubles favorite in Denmark Open

 

At around 8.30pm Odense time, mixed doubles’ second seed Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christina Pedersen won their opener with no sweat as they faced little resistance in taking care of business against Peter Käsbauer and Isabel Herttrich from Germany by winning 21-14, 21-8 in 28 minutes.

There will be more exciting and entertaining tournaments on Wednesday, as Denmark’s badminton shuttlers such as Jan Ø. Jorgensen, Viktor Axelsen,Hans-Kristian Vittinghus,Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen will all start the first round game against their opponents respectively.
