He will clash with Wang Zhengming of China, who edged Kento Momota of Japan 21-12, 21-17 in another men’s singles semi-final.

In the women’s singles, top seed Li Xuerui from China eased past Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand 21-18, 21-12, while second seed Wang Shixian of China fought past compatriot Wang Yihan 21-12, 22-20 in 32 minutes. The first and second seeds both secured their places in an all-Chinese final on Sunday.

Denmark’s sole representative in French Open – men’s doubles top seed Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen defeated Andrei Adistia-Hendra Aprida Gunawan of Indonesia in a convincing manner with 21-7, 21-18 in 31 minutes. They will meet Japanese Hiroyuki Endo and Kenichi Hayakawa, who battled past Lee Sheng Mu- Tsai Chia Hsin of Chinese Taipei 21-19, 21-16 in the final.

It will be an all-Chinese women’s doubles final on Sunday as the fifth seed Ma Jin-Tang Yuanting face seventh seed Wang Xiaoli- Yu Yang, who enjoyed a comfortable 22-20, 21-7 verdict over their teammate Luo Ying-Luo Yu.
