Sony Dwi Kuncoro brought 3 quick points for Ampang Jaya BC by trouncing his young challenger Chong Yee Han of Nusajaya BC 11-9, 11-5, 11-7 in 27 minutes. Ampang Jaya BC won the tie in style by drubbing Nusajaya BC 15-8 at the Sports Arena Sentosa on Saturday.
In an earlier tie between Petaling Jaya BC and Bangsar Hawks BC, even though Chiang Jiann Shiarng of Petaling Jaya BC went down 1-3 to Yong Zhao Ashton Chen, Petaling Jaya BC had an easy day by winning all remaining matches to seal the tie at 16-4. Out of the 16 points Petaling Jaya BC earned, 6 of them were actually free points when Bodin Isara/Prajakta Sawant of Petaling Jaya BC got a walker in mixed doubles, and Loh Kean Yew of Bangsar Hawk BC was disqualified right before his match against Nguyen Tien Minh.
While Chong Wei Feng and Tan Boon Heong were playing in the Axiata Cup semi-finals, Kepong BC shuttlers stepping up their games against Kajang BC to a splendid 15-6 victory.
