Well, the much-awaited Tan Boon Heong-Koo Kien Keat reunion is finally happening, and their fans should get excited about it when Tan Boon Heong told reporters on Friday that they are getting back together, and are in the process of working out some sponsorship deals.

“Kien Keat and I spoke not too long ago, we already gotten the new sponsorship deals finalized, and we are expecting to sign with our new sponsors next week. The endorsement would fund and pay our training, tournament expenses and so on,” said Boon Heong.

Tan Boon Heong indicated they would compete as an independent men’s doubles pair without the patronage of BAM.

“We are facing a race against time for qualifying for next year’s Olympics, but we will try our best. We already registered for the Australia Open, but not sure if we would be selected for the tournament yet,” added Boon Heong.

The pair is currently ranked world No. 216, they still have lot of work to do in order to qualify for the Olympics. But, hey, they took the whole badminton world by storm in 2006 – 2007, if they could get back in shape, everything is possible for these two talented players.
