Kuala Lumpur: Former world No. 1 men’s doubles pair Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong will make their comeback debut at the Australian Open qualifying round in Sydney next Tuesday, after they were broke up by Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) following a series of poor performances early 2014.Wish Koo Kien Keat (right)/Tan Boon Heong a stronger than before come back!
If they still able to produce the old pace and fire that made them one of the most formidable and fascinating men’s pair in the world, they could still earn a chance to be listed in the Malaysia national squad.

“Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong had previously performed well in a lot of tournaments. Fans enjoy watching them play badminton. If they could make a strong comeback, I would definitely considered to include them in next’s year Thomas Cup team,” said Morten Frost Hansen, the technical director of BAM.

Koo/Tan who just signed a RM 2 million sponsorship deal with Seri Mutiara Development Sdn Bhd last month, will face Alan Chan Yun Lung-Reginald Lee Chun Hei of Hong Kong in their first qualifying match next week, and would play Takeshi Kamura-Keigo Sonoda of Japan in the first round if Koo/Tan able to make it to the main draw.
