After dropping the first set 13-21, Goh fought back to win the second set 21-17. However, she clearly lost her momentum in the decider to eventually succumb to Kim 13-21 in the third set. Kim will play Chen Yufei of China in the semi-finals.

Fortunately, Malaysia’s men’s junior doubles pair Ooi Zi Heng/Soh Wooi Yik was able to survive a tough challenge by overcoming South Korean pair Lee Sang Min/Na Sung Seung 17-21, 21-14, 21-19 in the quarter-final match which lasted 52 minutes.

Ooi/Soh will play No. 3 seeds Han Chengkai/Zhou Haodong of China in the semi-finals on Saturday.
