Kuching: After pulling out from the semi-finals of last week’s India Open, Malaysia’s World No. 6 mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying are eager to make better memories this time at the Malaysian Open which starts in Kuching, Sarawak on Tuesday.
Chan/Goh who have yet to win any titles this year, made it to the last four at India Open last week but conceded a walkover when Goh came down with a bout of fever and cough after the quarter-final match.
However, Chan Peng Soon seemed very determined to bounce back from the India Open setback.
“We defeated Edi Subaktiar/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja in the India Open second round, I don’t see why we can’t achieve the same result when we meet them in Malaysia Open 1st round,” said Chan.
Chan/Goh are set up to make a second round clash with either South Korea’s Kim Gi Jung/Shin Seung Chan or Hong Kong’s Reginald Lee Chun Hei/Chau Hoi Wah if seeds hold.
