Basel: In a commanding performance at the 2025 Swiss Open, China’s 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Chen Yufei secured her spot in the women’s singles final. Facing Indonesia’s Putri Kusuma Wardani, ranked 11th globally, Chen showcased her dominance with a straight-sets victory, 21-15, 21-14.

This marks Chen’s second finals appearance this season, following her runner-up finish at the Orléans Masters, where she fell to South Korea’s An Se-young. In the upcoming final, Chen is set to compete against Denmark’s Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt, who battled past Canada’s Michelle Li with scores of 21-14, 12-21, 21-17.

France vs. Chinese Men’s Singles Final

The men’s singles final will feature an France versus Chinese showdown between Christo Popov and Weng Hongyang. Popov, ranked 31th in the world, secured his finals berth with a straight-sets win over World No. 6 Li Shifeng of China 21-19, 21-14; while Weng, ranked 17th, overcame Taiwan’s Lin Chun-yi with scores of 23-21, 21-16 in 42 minutes.

Chinese Pairs Dominate Women’s Doubles

China’s prowess was further evident in the women’s doubles, with two pairs advancing to the final. Top seeds Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning endured a grueling 92-minute match to defeat India’s Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly, 15-21, 21-15, 21-12. Meanwhile, the fifth-seeded duo of Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian dispatched Indonesia’s Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi in straight sets, 21-11, 21-12.

Men’s Doubles Final Set

In men’s doubles, Thailand’s Kittinupong Kedren and Dechapol Puavaranukroh advanced to the final after defeating Japan’s Hiroki Midorikawa/Kyohei Yamashita, 21-16, 21-14. They will face Indonesia’s Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Daniel Marthin, who edged out Taiwan’s Lee Fang-Chih and Lee Fang-Jen in a thrilling semi-final, 21-17, 26-24.

Mixed Doubles All-China Final

The mixed doubles final will be an all-China affair. Zhu Yi Jun and Zhang Chi are set to compete against compatriots Feng Yan Zhe and Wei Ya Xin, ensuring a title for China in this category.
