Leading the charge was World No. 2 Li Shifeng, who cruised to victory in the men’s singles final, defeating India’s Lakshya Sen 21-15, 21-12 in just 45 minutes.

This win evens the head-to-head record between the two at 7–7 and marks Li’s second BWF World Tour title of 2025, following his victory at the Malaysia Masters in May. It also represents his third consecutive win over Sen.
Wang Zhiyi Claims Third Title of the Season
In the women’s singles final, World No. 2 Wang Zhiyi defeated defending champion and teammate Han Yue in a closely fought contest, 21-14, 24-22.
Wang’s triumph marks her third title of the year, adding to her wins at the Malaysia Open and China Open. Interestingly, all three of her 2025 titles were won against Han Yue in the finals, extending her winning streak to 7 matches against her teammate.
Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang End 11-Month Title Drought
In men’s doubles, China’s Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang returned to form with a hard-fought three-game victory over India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, 19-21, 21-14, 21-17.
This win ends an 11-month title drought for the Chinese pair, whose last title came at the 2024 Denmark Open. It also avenges their recent loss to the Indian duo at the World Championships in Paris, improving their head-to-head record to 7–3.
It is also China’s first men’s doubles title at the Hong Kong Open since legends Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng won in 2011 and 2012.
Jia Yifan Wins Third Hong Kong Title in Women’s Doubles
World No. 4 pair Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian stormed through the final of the women’s doubles, beating Japan’s Rena Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi 21-17, 21-15.
This victory marked the pair’s second title together, and Jia Yifan’s third career title at the Hong Kong Open, having previously won with Chen Qingchen in 2017 and 2019.
Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping Rise in Mixed Doubles
World No. 2 duo Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping, nicknamed the “Phoenix Pair,” made a strong comeback after an early exit at the World Championships. They beat compatriots Guo Xinwa and Chen Fanghui 21-14, 21-14 in the mixed doubles final.
This win marks their fourth title of 2025, with previous victories at the Thailand Open, Malaysia Open, and China Open.
