Jakarta, Indonesia – In front of a buzzing crowd at Istora Senayan, Team Hurricanes claimed the 2025 3×3 BDMNTN-XL Jakarta title in emphatic fashion, crushing Team Rockets 7-1 in the final showdown on Sunday.

The BDMNTN-XL tournament, known for its unique 3×3 badminton format, brought fast-paced, high-energy action to Jakarta. With matches featuring men’s and women’s singles, co-ed 3-on-3 battles, and the thrilling “Ultimate Shuttle Showdown”, the event delivered four days of world-class badminton and festival entertainment.

Match Recap: A Hurricane of Power

The Hurricanes stormed into the lead early in the 3×3 category, with the trio of Mathias Christiansen, M. Reza Isfahani, and Fadia Silva Ramadhanti sweeping all their matches to put three points on the board.

The women’s singles match brought the tension. Mia Blichfeldt (Rockets) won the first two sets, but Kirsty Gilmour (Hurricanes) rallied to level the score. In the decisive shuttle showdown, Blichfeldt held her nerve to secure the Rockets’ only point, narrowing the gap to 3-1.

Any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Anthony Ginting defeated Kodai Naraoka in the men’s singles tie. After dropping the opening set, Ginting surged back with three straight wins, extending Hurricanes’ lead to 4-1.

Closing out the event was a sizzling final 3×3 match, where Goh Sze Fei, Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, and Treesa Jolly delivered three dramatic wins to lock in the championship for the Hurricanes.

A Festival of Badminton and Culture

Beyond the court, the tournament embraced a festival atmosphere with live music, interactive fan zones, and multimedia entertainment. The four-day spectacle drew huge local support and created a vibrant celebration of the sport.

Despite a shaky start with a loss on Day 1, Team Hurricanes surged to a memorable and well-deserved victory—solidifying their place as champions of the BDMNTN-XL Jakarta 2025.
