Macau: Reigning Commonwealth Games women’s doubles champion Woon Khe Wei-Vivian Hoo who lost in the first round of the Hong Kong Open last week, finally got their act together on Thursday, racing to a 21-16, 21-18 win against Della Destiara Haris-Gebby Ristiyani Imawan of Indonesia in the last 16 match of Macau Open.
Vivian was pleased with their performance against the Indonesian pair.
“It feels good to win again, it’s been a while, especially after the disappointment at Hong Kong Open last week,” said Vivian.
In the men’s singles event, former world junior champion Zulfadli Zulkiffli could not build on the momentum after winning the first set to eventually went down to unseeded Suppanyu Avihingsanon of Thailand 21-13, 18-21, 15-21.
