New York: So, after Viktor Axelsen of Denmark took home the World Championships title, and all of the sudden, Badminton became so popular in Europe and North America, even two of the best tennis players in the world, Rafael Nadal and Venus Williams have decided to switch their careers to Badminton?
Not really, with just few days left before the start of the 2017 U.S. Open, Rafael Nadal and Venus Williams were playing a badminton friendly match at The Lotte New York Palace Invitational in New York City last Thursday.
Since the match was set up for the purpose of entertainment, although both were not appropriately dressed up for the sport and both flopped to the ground few times as they were involved in some poor rallies, they were really having a hard time impressing the confused crowd.
At the end, the crowd still clapped and cheered enthusiastically in recognition that they had been entertained by the two tennis stars for few minutes.
