Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian icon Lee Chong Wei once again reminded fans why he remains one of the sport’s most admired figures — not just for his achievements on court, but for his sincerity off the court.

On February 14, Valentine’s Day, the former world No. 1 delivered a deeply personal message to his wife, Wong Mew Choo, expressing his gratitude and love in three languages. The tribute quickly resonated with badminton fans across Malaysia and beyond.

A Tribute to His Strongest Supporter

Lee addressed his wife directly, thanking her for standing by him from the very beginning of his professional badminton journey.

He reflected on the highs of championship victories and the lows of injuries and setbacks, acknowledging that while the public saw medals and glory, it was Wong who quietly carried the emotional weight behind the scenes.

Below is the complete message from Lee Chong Wei to Wong Mew Choo:

To my wife, Wong Mew Choo 黄妙珠

Thank you for being my strongest supporter from day one.

Through every match, every injury, every high and low… you were always there; not in the spotlight, but behind the scenes, holding everything together.

People see medals and trophies, but I see the sacrifices you made quietly for our family. For that, I will always be grateful.

To all couples out there, love is not just about flowers or dinner. It’s about patience, teamwork, and choosing each other every single day. Just like in badminton, doubles only works when both partners trust each other fully. 😉

Wishing everyone a day filled with love, laughter, and appreciation.

Happy Valentine’s Day. ❤️

Side note:

Kejadian 3 hari lepas…

Pagi bermula penuh romantis.
Kasih, sayang, cinta… semua ada.

Tiba-tiba kepala rasa berat. Pening pening lalat pon Ada.

Si bini dengan penuh prihatin terus datang urut kepala.

Aku dengan penuh rasa syukur:
“I memang lelaki paling bertuah. Sejak kahwin dengan you, urutan you memang hilangkan semua sakit kepala I.”

Wifey senyum manis…
Lepas tu keluar soalan supertrick tahap Olimpik:

“Before kahwin dengan I… siapa urut kepala you bila you sakit kepala?”

Terus jantung berdegup laju.
Tangan sejuk.
Nasib baik Otak ligat.
Mulut hampir terjawab… “Macha barber…”

Tiba-tiba Kingston pandang I dengan penuh keyakinan, macam nak kata,
“Relax Papa. I got this.”

Kingston:
“Before kahwin dengan Mama… Papa tak pernah sakit kepala.”

Terdiam.

Malam tu…
Dinner Maggi dua orang. 🍜
