Gold Coast: Sung Ji Hyun (Korea), PV Sindhu (India), Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen (China), Jonatan Christie (Indonesia), Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi (Japan) were taking some well-deserved relaxation time from the Sudirman Cup competition to relax Relax on the Surfers Paradise Beach in Gold Coast, Australia.

Surfers Paradise beach is Queensland’s most famous beach. Every year millions of visitors flock from all over the globe to this Gold Coast beach to surf, swim and party.

Gold Coast Tourism spokesman Dean Gould was hoping the Sudirman Cup could provide immense publicity for the city.

“The estimated television audience for badminton is a staggering 500 million, mostly across Asia, and we are glad to host such a big event in Gold Coast,” said Gould.

The 2017 Sudirman Cup will run until Sunday, with defending champions China facing challenges from Malaysia, Denmark, Indonesia, Korea and Japan.
